AvaTrade Code 128979: What It Really Does

Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Usually the same question: do you get discounted fees or free trading?

No. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code doesn't change that.

Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Simple as that.

How much do you get?

$1,000 deposit adds $200.

Put in $2,000, get $400.

$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. Most people won't hit that.

UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. website Scales up to £11,200 maximum.

Account minimum is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.

The code field isn't obvious

Registration page. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A field drops down. Type **128979**.

Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.

If you see an error, it's fine. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. They handle this regularly.

There's a catch with the bonus

There's a volume requirement.

Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your own money stays yours. Access it whenever you need. Only the bonus has the restriction.

Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
